How to migrate from Yahoo Store to WooCommerce?

1. Preparation

For Yahoo Store Store:

  • Please ensure you have the right permission to upload files into your Yahoo Store Store.
  • It must not block access from WooCommece Store to the connector.

  • Click “Activate”

2.3 Export data from Yahoo Store 

Export Products to CSV files

  1. Click Catalog Manager link in the Edit column.. Click on “Customize the table information you see” button.
  2. In the popup window, add all columns from left pane to right pane, click “Apply changes” to close the popup.
  3. Click on “Download table as .zip file”.
  4. Unzip the file to have .csv file.
  5. Upload this data to Migration Wizard and proceed to the next step.

Export Customers to CSV files

  1. Click Customer Manager link in the Process column.
  2. Choose to export all customers in csv format.

Export Orders to CSV files

  1. Click the Orders link in the Process column.
  2. Enter a range of orders to expor.
  3. Select an export format from the pull-down menu. Choose .csv.
  4. Click the Export button. Access and Generic CSV format, click the Download link for Orders.csv and save the file.
  5. Upload this data to Migration Wizard and proceed to the next step.

Export Orders Item to CSV files

  1. Click the Orders link in the Process column.
  2. Enter a range of orders to expor.
  3. Select an export format from the pull-down menu. Choose .csv.
  4. Click the Export button. Access and Generic CSV format, click the Download link for Items.csv and save the file.
  5. Upload this data to Migration Wizard and proceed to the next step.

Export Order Item Options to CSV files

  1. Log into Yahoo Merchant/Aabaco admin panel.
  2. Click the Orders link in the Process column.
  3. Enter a range of orders to export.
  4. Select an export format from the pull-down menu. Choose .csv.
  5. Click the Export button. Access and Generic CSV format, click the Download link for Options.csv and save the file.
  6. Upload this data to Migration Wizard and proceed to the next step.

3. Migration Plugins Setup

Migration Plugins are purchased and setup separately. They will provide additional functionalities to the tool. Normally plugins need to be customized and tweaked by LitExtension Team to fit customers requirements and will be sent to customers later on. There are a few types of plugin:

  • Products and Categories SEO Urls Plugin: helps migrate Products and Categories urls. Old urls will be saved in Target Woocommerce Store and will be maintained to keep all current SEO ranking you have built up for years.
  • Custom Fields Plugin: help migrate custom fields from Yahoo Store to Target Woocommerce Store. This is useful in case customers have customized their store, for example: adding fields to database tables, and also want to migrate these fields into Woocommerce Store.

5. Migration

5.1 Yahoo Store Configuration

Fulfill information in the setup table:

  • Cart Type: Choose ‘Yahoo Store’
  • Cart URL: Your Yahoo Store URL
  • Upload exported files you had from 2. SETUP

5.2 Migration Configuration

  • Languages Mapping: Pick the language to be mapped into Woocommerce default language.
  • Orders Status Mapping: Assign Yahoo Store Cart order statuses to proper Woocommerce Store order statuses. Creating additional order statuses in Woocommerce Store may be needed.
  • Entities to Migrate: select all entities to migrate or just a part of them.

  • Clear current data on Target Store before Migration: if you choose this option, all current products, categories, manufacturers, customers, orders, product reviews, taxes will be cleared.

5.3 Migration

The migration will take place automatically in this final step. In order for it to progress, you should not close your browser of remove Yahoo Store Connector. Information shows in this step:

  • Yahoo Store: Yahoo Store base url you have entered in Step 1, this url will be registered with your license.
  • Entity limit: the limit associated with your license. To change this value, you need to upgrade/purchase another license code.

  • After the migration is completed, click on “Clear Transient” to finish.
