How to migrate from WIX to Shopify?

1. Preparation

– Permission to upload files to Wix store
– Permission for third IP to access Wix store
– PHP Compatibility: PHP 4.x or later.

2. Setup

Cart Migration is a web application, it will be installed automatically.

Please login to LitExtension and go to My Account > My Downloadable Products then click to the Hosted Tool link  to do fully automatic installations.

3. Migration

Return to, you are now at Step 1 of migration process.
The migration will go through 3 simple steps. Just hit “Next” when you finish one step to advance.

3.1. Step 1: Source Cart and Target Cart Setup

For WIX Store:

  • Please ensure you have the right permission to upload files into your WIX Store.
  • WIX Store can operate normally during migration as it requires a very limited resource for the process.

How to export data (Products, Orders, Customers) from WIX Store:

Export products to CSV file

  • To export product files from wix you’ll need to enable Developer Tools, in your admin panel first. To do that, follow these steps:
  • Open your Editor.
  • On the Editor Top Bar, click Code, and then click Turn on Developer Tools.
  • Go to Database -> Store
  • Select Products
  • Select Import/Export
  • Click on the “Export” button.

Export customers to CSV file

  • Sign in to your Wix admin account.
  • Go to Contacts & CRM -> Contact List
  • Click “Select all”
  • Go to More actions -> Export Contacs -> Export
  • Go to customer export file, please change title First Name to First_Name on the first line

Export orders to CSV file

  • Sign in to your Wix admin account.
  • Go to Store Orders
  • Click “Select all”
  • Click on the “Export” button.
  • Go to order export file, please change title Order # to Order_# on the first line

Shopify Setup

Follow similar steps with Shopify as in Target Cart Setup

With the step API Key fulfilling, you can follow as:

  1. Log in to your Shopify store admin area, copy the admin Url (remove /admin) to use as “Cart Url” in migration.
  2. From admin area, go to Apps Menu. Then, scroll down the page and click Manage private apps link.
  3. In the next page, enter your Private app name. Click “Review disabled Admin API Permissions“and change all Permissions to “Read and Write“.
    Then scroll to bottom, in Storefront API area, uncheck this option: Allow this app to access data from your storefront.
  4. Click Save App, at the Admin API area you will see API Key and Password. Copy and paste it into the corresponding field and proceed to the next step.

3.2. Step 2: Migration Configuration

  • Select suitable Languages, Order Statuses and Currencies for Shopify store
    Currencies Mapping: Assign Wix currencies to proper Shopify currencies.
    Orders Status Mapping: Assign Wix order statuses to proper Shopify order statuses.
  • Select all data you want to migrate from WIX to Shopify.

  • Additional Options:
    –  Preserve Order IDs on Target Store: This will help to preserve your old Order IDs for easier reference
    Migrate categories and products SEO URLs: SEO URL of Wix will be preserved in Shopify , allowing keeping Pagerank.

3.3. Step 3: Migration
After the migration is completed, click on “Clear Cache and ReIndex Data” to finish.
